Today, december 2nd at 15h in Japan, the Card Captor Sakura mobile game officially ceased to exist. Now, if you try accessing it through the usual link, you are automatically redirected to the homepage of mobage.

When it was first announced, I really didn't think much about it, even when the 1st and 2d artworks were out I didn't quite get excited, but after seeing new artworks month after month getting better and better, seeing so many manga panels in full color and finally playing the game myself (in spite of the limitations that came with not residing in Japan...), I really came to like it very much and got pretty attached to it. I was really looking forward every end of the month to see a new CCS art from Clamp, it was like seeing a glimpse of what would a CCS artbook have been had it been released nowadays, and not 10 years ago...

Here are all the artworks released monthly the past year:

This is the latest CCS illustration released, I unfortunately can't post more views at the moment since, unlike the previous months, they did not offer several pics, but only 'awarded' one, I got Sakura (I wanted Syaoran!). Hopefully, it might reset tomorrow and I might be given something else? edit: such convenient thing did not happen...that said, the Sakura pic might actually be the only one available atm (maybe) since I did not find anything else in the archive in which all existing cards should be listed.
The reason why they are celebrating is because this artwork is meant as a 'thank you' for playing the mobile game until now (the 'name' of the card is '無ハッピーエンドのお祝い(UR)' = 'Celebration of the non-happy ending (UR)', not sure what they mean by that), the game is ending soon, in december, I don't know why they decided to do that one month prior though, can we assume this is the last illustration Clamp will draw? Who knows...EDIT: as written bellow, after the pic, they will stop releasing any new material starting Oct 31th at 15h, meaning the likeliness of this being the last artwork is very high.

EDIT (Nov1st): full view available! And behold: first drawing of Eriol in 13 years!

EDIT: from the look of the following text published, it seems like there will be no new elements added to the game from now on, meaning this might indeed be the very last CCS artwork ;_; I just looked again at Clamp's schedule and the nothingness in it really made me sigh...ugh D: The next few months will be very boring...

IMPORTANT: when new pictures/views or versions in better quality are available of all the new artworks for the mobile game, the only thread I update with the new material is this one: CCS mobile game: the new illustrations [thread updated when new arts are available] since having to hunt for/update separately each thread with each different artwork would be bothersome.

Also, CLAMP will be illustration Nakamura Aki's debut detective novel, ロジック・ロック・フェスティバル 〜Logic Lock Festival〜 探偵殺しのパラドックス. It will be released November 14th. More info here

Just released today: the september 2013 illustration features Sakura-chan as a painter!!! Isn't she adorable!
Together with her are Keroberos and Spinel Sun, looking pretty cool and comfortable there, and somehow 'younger' than how they looked in the manga? It might really just be Clamp's drawing style evolving, though (pretty likely).

About future illustrations, well, I don't know: the very first artwork was released in october 2012, so this one is the 12th already...I don't know how it works and for how long Clamp engaged themselves to makes new illustrations for the mobile game, but this is clearly not going to go on forever (even though it would be awesome if that were the case). A 1 year contract seems to make sense to me, but in the end I truly have no idea, but from what I can see the game is still on-going with many new limited events offering more and more black and white manga pictures in colored version and there is no sign of it slowing down, so I hope there will be new arts for at least until the end of the year!

About playing the game: in june, I made a post with a link to the instructions on how to play the game on your mobile phone no matter where you are in the world, negating the fact that you 'can only play it if you live in Japan', but after playing it a while and reaching level 50, I painfully realized there was some truth in the 'japan only' thing...this can be resumed to one line > you need a 'personal authentication of the smart phone' which, from what I understood, comes down to having a japanese SIM card, without which the following happen:
you will not receive a login bonus
you will not receive the reward when a boss is defeated = no matter how many clow cards you convert into sakura cards, you are not rewarded said card, or if you participate in limited time events in which you generally get rare/super rare/ultra rare etc.. cards: it doesn't matter if you 'win', you're not getting anything.
you will not receive the reward for the 'diary writing'
you will not receive the reward of a friend invitation
you will not receive a gift at the end of tutorials
you are unable to purchase some items (all of them)

Also, there is something called 'sakura costumes' in which you have to collect the different fragments (like a 6 pieces puzzle) until you get the full thing, after which you are rewarded the rare card with said costume but needless to say, you don't get the card even after completing them...
To put it simply, the only thing you can get are 'jewels', which are pretty much 'points'
, and Normal cards (1 and 2 stars cards) you can get easily patrolling around Tomoeda. You can battle against other players and get jewels too, but considering your cards never go above Normal, it's getting harder and harder to find opponents that wouldn't crush you with their 3+ stars cards.
There is also a marketplace but I still don't know my way around there, but the only thing available for you for trading/paying are obviously only jewels and there are no 'prices' shown, meaning you pretty much make an offer to the person selling their cards and wait for acceptance or refusal, not having any idea what said person expect. example: I offered 30000jewels for a clow card and was refused.

The latest CCS illustration was made available this morning, moments ago~

I was surprised to see a family picture!
Somehow, I had a summery (beach? water?) kind of theme in mind and (since I always crave more Syaoran) I evidently wished him to be included somewhere, but the actual artwork that was revealed ended up completely different from anything I had imagined, but a truly pleasant sight nonetheless! This is the very first time we see those 4 together: even in Tsubasa Clamp did not draw this family all together~

That said, I don't know about you guys, but I'm having a surprisingly hard time picturing the whole thing, even thought at first sight it might seem obvious: Sakura is next to Touya, but on the left what we see is black and red fabric, which doesn't match with neither of their parents' outfits, so Fujitaka&Nadeshiko are either in Touya' side (which seems weird) or Sakura's, beyond that red&black thing.

EDIT [08/06]: mystery resolved, looks like Fujitaka&Nadeshiko were on another 'level' all together, the four of them are not directly next to each other.

The latest CCS illustration was revealed!
I was actually expecting a Syaoran solo picture ( a rare sight, I know) considering the obvious event in July is his birthday, but while it's not I wished for, it is still pretty close! :) We still got Syaoran holding a cake, surrounded with Sakura and Tomoyo, they all look pretty good, nice artwork!

EDIT: June 30th added instructions on saving pics & changed pics bellow for better quality ones.

These are photos taken of my mobile's screen since I unfortunately do not know how to save these pictures ;_;

INSTRUCTIONS: To save the pics, you have 2 choices:
1-use firefox and save whatever page you like as a .pdf, open it on your PC and do whatever you want with all the pictures saved in the .pdf file. The interests in doing this is that since it saves the whole page, you can copy/paste the japanese text and translate anything you need to understand to play the game with a online translator. Painfully easy, yes. I didn't realize it bcs when I first tried to play the game and opened it with firefox, it was so unbelievably slow that it was almost completely stopped, for a moment I even thought the game wasn't working, that's why since that time I only used the basic 'internet' option of my phone (which didn't allow to download/save things) to access the game. But today I tried using firefox again and there was no problem of speed or connection.
2-use firefox and press your finger 2sec on the picture you want, a windows asking you whether you want to share/copy/save the pic will appear, select the option you want.

They are 'advertising' the new illustration/cards by showing us off previews:

EDIT: July 3rd, as I expected, this is a picnic! I had actually thought about it but decided to leave my impressions for later until others views were available, looks like I was right ^^

EDIT: July 5th, here goes the full picture, in critically bad quality I know, but this will allow at least to see what the whole thing is like, until hopefully someone share something better, bcs now knowing how to play the game, I'm afraid I can only get this mini preview from the game on my own, actually 'winning' this card is impossible  ;_;

I really never tire to write this entry's subject: "New CCS artwork (mobile game)", that said, I'm afraid I might get too used to it and get really sad when Clamp stops releasing more...

I don't know what the full picture looks like, but Syaoran is by Sakura' side (YEY!), there might be others characters coughhopefullynotcough, SxS are holding hands (kyah!) and dancing (?) to a tune, the theme is obviously music.
I don't know what is it for, is there some kind of event/celebration in Japan/worldwide at this time of the year? We also have to consider that it might be a completely random illustration (like the chess or the tea party ones).

I've read sec ago that there was no gate7 on sight....for all the fans out there, I'm sorry if I didn't feel sad about it at all, if they are using that time to draw CCS, please GO ON! :P

EDIT June 1st: Here goes more pics, they're of a very low resolution I know, but this is all there is for the moment, hopefully, better versions will be seen online in the near future. If some of you do have better pics, please share with the rest of us!
The full artwork is like I expected it to be; from the beginning, my real doubt was actually Syaoran's facial expression: I wondered whether Clamp would have him either 1-frowning or 2-looking a bit lost (like looking at his feet because he doesn't know how to dance for example) or 3-(best case scenario) smiling while looking at Sakura...he is not looking at her but he IS smiling so I'm pretty happy :D

Also, about the release of new CCS artworks for the mobile game, it seems like this is a monthly release; thanks to [livejournal.com profile] nokiirat for this precious info (in this post)! And this is the original japanese message about it.
As for the pic itself, from the *bad* translation I got with google translate of some of their latest tweets (May 31st), it seems like a picture of 'Sakura and Syaoran getting along' was requested many times in the TwitCasting of Clamp (TwitCasting is a service to let you stream live video for free), this is their answer to these requests.

This scene actually appears in the 2nd chapter of volume 8, so I guess putting it as 'new' is not exactly right...

For the ones of you who have seen many of the colored illustrations of the mobile game, I'm sure you noticed that many of them were re-drawn in some parts or even significantly completed: for example, a scan of Sakura drawn up to her waist in the manga has legs added to it for the mobile game, other example that happens often is flowers: tons and tons of flowers added to pics.
That said, out of everything I've seen until now, this was the most modified. So much was redrawn that I consider it as a 'sorta new art'.

In case you're curious, this is the b&w page of the manga:Read more... )

I don't know how closely the members of this community have been following up the new illustrations released for the Card Captor Sakura mobile game (2012-2013), but I've (arbitrarily :P) decided to make a post especially for it, listing them all and sharing the highest resolution I've got of them. I was actually going to do that in my own livejournal, but then thought I would post it here too.

All the pictures under the cut )

NB: I didn't not include the latest Tomoyo illustration in this gallery because I've only got the snapshot from the PV of it.
EDIT May 3th: Tomoyo pic added
EDIT June 9th: bigger textless pictures of Yukito and YukitoxSyaoran (white Day) + SxS music themed artwork
EDIT June 12th: added Kero picture with umbrella (Tomoyo pic)
EDIT June 28th: added this month's artwork featuring SyaoranxSakuraxTomoyo + Tomoyo's May picture in full (super low resolution) + another bday Sakura card (moon)
EDIT August 7th: replaced full view of pics of March White Day and May Tomoyo, this is the best quality we can get so these are the final versions; new pics for July picnic; added a Syao&Yuki pic (White Day); added a better pic of SakuraxYue (Valentine pic); replaced: better pic of Tomoyo (guest artists); replaced: 2 Ruby Moon pic for better ones and added a 3th one (Valentine pic); and added august new pic: family summer festival.
EDIT August 30th: new september illustration featuring Sakura as an artist together with Kero and Spinel + added up a better resolution pic of White Day|Syaoran and a new pic of White Day|Touya + better resolution pic of Picnic|SxS + better resolution pics of family summer|TouyaxSakura & FujitakaxNadeshiko + new Hydrangea|TomoyoxKero picture.
EDIT October 1st: 2 new pictures of Sakura artist (sept 2013 artwork) + full version of family summer (low quality) + new artwork for october: Halloween themed + announcement: the game will end on December 2d, 2013.
EDIT October 3rd: added 1 new Sakura picnic picture + added 1 new Sakura family summer + 4 new pics of Halloween including full view of artwork.
EDIT October 4th: added 2 new Halloween pics: 1 Sakura and 1 Syaoran
EDIT October 11th: added full view pics of family summer and picnic, this is the best that can be obtained from the mobile game so these are the final versions of the complete artworks.
EDIT November 1st: switched Halloween|Syaoran + Halloween|Sakura + Halloween|Yue pics with better quality ones + added up new artwork, maybe the last: Celebration + switched all 3 picture of Syaoran & 2/3 of Tomoyo's pic by other mangaka artist with better versions: these are their max level of quality so these are the final versions.

Another illustration for the CCS mobile game was announced: this time, it's staring Tomoyo-chan! She is surrounded by hydrangeas, a flower which starts blooming starting from early Spring (until late Autumn). I suspect Kero is part of the picture (see the little umbrella on her side).

Enjoy the illustration:

And the PV (the 4th so far) it came from:

o-m-g....gorgeous! @_@ Clamp sure are motivated with CCS art lately, the game is doing well in Japan then?

Seems like this illustration might very well be in celebration of Sakura's upcoming birthday on April 1st, at least this is what it looks like to me (she is even holding a present!).

If anyone got it in better quality please share with us!

mmhhh...the subject of this new thread sounds pretty familiar...ah yeah! I wrote the same thing one month ago! Will I ever get tired of writing it? NEVER! Keep them coming Clamp! If you are taking breaks from your ongoing series to draw more CCS, you are very welcome to continue (indefinitely)!

hum, back on track, here goes a boy-only artwork, I like both Syaoran's and Touya's expressions: they are showing faces I've never seen before in them, Yukito is the same as usual though ahaha~ I don't know what the japanese texts say, but it might be related to the game itself?
Just a random idea, but is it for White Day? Boys gifting flowers? Since we got a Valentine themed illustration after all (and an Xmas and New Year ones before that). If it's the case, it might be 'bad news'? Since there are no big events left I can think of...Easter maybe? Feels too close. We did get 2 artworks (alice in wonderland and chess) which had nothing to do with anything, so it's not hopeless?

If anyone has the complete picture in better quality, please share with us!
