New CCS artwork (mobile game)

The latest CCS illustration was made available this morning, moments ago~

I was surprised to see a family picture!
Somehow, I had a summery (beach? water?) kind of theme in mind and (since I always crave more Syaoran) I evidently wished him to be included somewhere, but the actual artwork that was revealed ended up completely different from anything I had imagined, but a truly pleasant sight nonetheless! This is the very first time we see those 4 together: even in Tsubasa Clamp did not draw this family all together~

That said, I don't know about you guys, but I'm having a surprisingly hard time picturing the whole thing, even thought at first sight it might seem obvious: Sakura is next to Touya, but on the left what we see is black and red fabric, which doesn't match with neither of their parents' outfits, so Fujitaka&Nadeshiko are either in Touya' side (which seems weird) or Sakura's, beyond that red&black thing.

EDIT [08/06]: mystery resolved, looks like Fujitaka&Nadeshiko were on another 'level' all together, the four of them are not directly next to each other.



IMPORTANT: when new pictures/views or versions in better quality are available, the only thread I update with the new material is this one: CCS mobile game: the new illustrations [thread updated when new arts are available] since having to hunt for/update separately each thread with each different artwork would be bothersome.

I love these!!! I can't really picture the whole scene myself. For example, the lanterns behind Touya suggest that his mom and dad are on the left side of the picture (so, on his right), because on the other side they get smaller and far away in the distance, while the lanterns behind the parents are big and closer. But then, what about the tree behind Fujitaka? It should be visible behind Touya too! I'm lost.

I noticed the lanterns too! But I actually discarded them since I thought they were multiple and different strings of lanterns at different distances maybe?

I personally thought Fujitaka could only be on the right of the picture because half of him is cut off while Touya and Sakura can bee seen in full (this can be seen in another pic I didn't post here yet -since I have to upload it first from my mobile phone-). Though of course, there is always the option a new pic of Fujitaka in full will be revealed soon enough!

Could it be that there's another person between Touya and Nadeshiko? That would explain two different strings of lanterns, and the black and red fabric. Maybe it's Yukito?

Okay, CLAMP just needs to make a whole new CCS artbook with all of these lovely illustrations they're releasing for the mobile game. Do they not realise how much they could bank on a new CCS artbook?! I'd love to see this one as a full piece instead of having to puzzle them together & guess! A family picture of these four would be so very heart warming!

P.S. Sakura always has the most adorable kimonos! Thank you for sharing, as always!

I feel the same about an new CCS artbook, they should release it and just shut up and take my money! XD
That said, in spite of our hopes and the fact there is actually enough illustrations to release a new illustration book, I really don't know how these things work, but I don't think authors, even if they're as popular as Clamp, can just release a book whenever they feel like it? And the biggest question is: do they even want to release it?

Well, even if we have to wait another several+ years for some kind of CCS artbook, I'm sure we won't be the only ones rushing out to buy it as soon as possible. I'm still waiting on that Sakura Nendoroid to come true. (And it would even be better if they made a Figma for the CCS cast, as well! But we can only dream....)

Nadeshiko was no longer alive by the time Touya was in his teens. He was 10 and Sakura 3 when they lost their mom. Could Nadeshiko and Fujitaka be in a photo?

I'm wondering if Kaho Mizuki is standing next to Touya. She could be wearing black hakama and a red sash.

Of course, we all know that Nadeshiko died before the CCS story started, so seeing her inside the manga itself (beside flashbacks) would be impossible, but drawing a family picture of the four, in spite of the dead mother, as a fanservice in an artbook was definitely not an impossible task. Same for Tsubasa: not drawing of them, in spite of Nadeshiko actually being alive.

There is nobody else beside the four on this artwork~
