Hello there. I like to bring happy news and good stuff, but today's news aren't as great as I'd like them to be.

On Random House's site (the one who owns DelRey Press), there's a form you can submit to ask your questions. So, out of curiosity with the recent "is it cancelled or not" problem, I sent the fatidical question and just received an answer from them. Mails are as follow:

Dear Del Rey staff, there's quite a confusion about CLAMP in America's release date - or, rather, if it's really going to be released at all. Many costumers said their pre-orders for the book were cancelled all of a sudden on some sites. However, there's still a pre-order option for Amazon.com...

So, I humbly ask you: CLAMP in America will be released on June 28th as scheduled? Or will it be delayed AGAIN? Or will it be cancelled once and for all? Please, enlighten me.

Thanks for your attention!

Good Afternoon,

Thank you for contacting Random House, we appreciate your feedback and continued interest in our publications.

The title 'Clamp in America' has been cancelled. There is no tentative release date scheduled for this title at this time. The only pending volumes currently scheduled for release from Clamp are XXXHolic 17 in September of this year and XXXHolic 18 in December of this year. If you would like to write to the Del Rey editorial team to request they reconsider, please do so at this address:

So, there you have it, straight from the horse's but not DarkHorse's mouth. Quite sad, indeed...

So I just received a cancellation notice in the mail from Rightstuf for CLAMP in America.

I googled and couldn't find any news. I went to Random House's website and searched for the title, but it no longer comes up.

Anyone know what happened?

Just got a notice from Amazon.com that CLAMP in America will be delayed until June 28th, 2011 which is confirmed at Random House.

Anyone know why?

Apparently, Del Rey is in no rush to sell this.
Amazon just sent me an email updating the release date for CLAMP in America to September 28th (back from May). Del Rey's site also confirms the September release.

A lengthy excerpt from Chapter 1 of CLAMP in America has been posted on Del Rey's website. The book will be released May 25, 2010 (Amazon's date).

Even though many smaller online retailers list Del Rey's CLAMP in America for February 2010, Amazon.com just sent an email with the updated release date of May 27, 2010. Hopefully, this isn't the case. Confirmed on Del Rey's website.

Here's the cover to the upcoming CLAMP in America book from Del Rey. Many online comic book retailers have it listed for a February 24th release.

Last bit of SDCC news: Del Rey has officially announced that the CLAMP in AMERICA book has been pushed back to February/March 2010. [credits: ann.com]
(This coincides with the change Amazon made in June. The online and b&m stores might have differing street dates, so please check your favorite store for preorder dates.)

And it's the last day for Fanbook submissions. Some countries' deadlines have already past. Contact your country's editor if you think you will be late. (do not contact me)

The xxxHolic-Tsubasa OAD website has updated with xxxHolic Shunmuki Part 2 screenshots. Part 2 will be out with xxxHolic Volume 15 on June 23rd.

And the Kobato anime website updated with news of a B5 anime poster giveaway at Newtype Mobile. (for Japanese residents, I'm assuming)

Amazon.com also now lists Del Rey's CLAMP in America for release February 23, 2010.

Just doing some after Xmas shopping, and saw that CLAMP in America's release date recently changed from June 23rd to October 20th at Amazon.com.

ETA:
There's a larger image of CLAMP in CARDLAND series 6 package at the official website; at the LOFT page or the LOFT pdf archive page.

Since Del Rey released a PR on their recent acquisitions with tentative dates, I figured that there were enough interesting domestic releases to list these.
(mostly based on Amazon's release dates, but they may hit local bookstores earlier)

October 14, 2008: Del Rey's xxxHolic: AnotherHolic
November 18, 2008: Del Rey's Tsubasa 19
January 27, 2009: Del Rey's Tsubasa 20
March 24, 2009: Del Rey's xxxHolic volume 13
March 2009: Dark Horse's Clover Omnibus
May 2009: Del Rey's Soryuden the Novel
July 2009: Del Rey's CLAMP in America

From ICv2:
At the San Diego Comic-Con Del Rey Manga announced the publication of Clamp in America, a softcover, full color book that traces the rise of female manga-ka supergroup in Japan and documents their influence both in Japan and in the rest of the world. The book includes 300 pieces of art and features an original cover. Manga maven and cartoonist Shaenon K. Garrity is writing and editing the volume which includes both interviews with the members of Clamp and with artists from around the world who have been influenced by Clamp. Interestingly Del Rey Manga Associate Editor Dallas Middaugh told ICv2 that Del Rey had negotiated the deal for Clamp in America directly with the members of Clamp.

At first, it sounded like old interviews, but it sounds like there will be a new interview and a new cover from CLAMP.

And there are currently 13 volumes of Soryuden. (I think I typed 11 before..oops, darn google)
You can check out the covers at Amazon.jp. It's interesting to see that this series (with the CLAMP illustrations) started in 1993 and continues today. CLAMP's covers reflect all that time. (Random note: This guy looks like Sakura.)

Del Rey will release an original CLAMP in America retrospective book in 2009. It will contain their history, interviews & 300 color illustrations. (all in time for CLAMP's 20th anniversary). [livejournal.com profile] shaenon will be the author. Check out her post here...hm?

Del Rey also licensed the Soryuden (11 volume?) novel series(CLAMP-illustrated version).
