check at bn and it says it comes in July. What is with CLAMP in America? What is it about?

usually Amazon.com is up-to-date with the comings and goings of dates. It was supposed to be released late june and now they've cancelled my order...which usually means the release date is unknown.

It's a book that was scheduled for 2 years ago..."At the San Diego Comic-Con Del Rey Manga announced the publication of Clamp in America, a softcover, full color book that traces the rise of female manga-ka supergroup in Japan and documents their influence both in Japan and in the rest of the world. The book includes 300 pieces of art and features an original cover. Manga maven and cartoonist Shaenon K. Garrity is writing and editing the volume which includes both interviews with the members of Clamp and with artists from around the world who have been influenced by Clamp. Interestingly Del Rey Manga Associate Editor Dallas Middaugh told ICv2 that Del Rey had negotiated the deal for Clamp in America directly with the members of Clamp."

It might have to do with the purgatory Del-Rey Manga is currently working in. With a vast majority of their titles transferring back to Kodansha, they may be having difficulty establishing some sort of deal for CLAMP in America. Its not quite the thing that Del-Rey (the imprint) produces, but parent company Random House could be equally unsure about putting it onto another imprint (if they're allowed to, whispers in forums are that Kodansha USA may want to produce it themselves, which doesn't make much sense. It would make far more sense for Dark Horse to pick up the title since they're releasing the omnibus editions of CLAMP's older works. Tho now that I think about I haven't seen the MKR books yet)
