Date: 2016-06-07 05:44 am (UTC)It feels like it's been an eternity since I've last talked with you, I hope you've been doing well (and as crazy as ever about CCS of course! )
It's indeed a dream come true for all the fans! Only one year ago, if someone came up and talked about a new season of the anime of a continuation of the manga, nobody would have sincerely believed in this possibility, the series ended so long ago...
What was just supposed to be the fantasies of the fans, ended up happening in reality! XD XD
As for the connection with TRC, I don't think there will be much of that, if not none at all: the Sakura we saw in TRC was still a student, but clearly older, and she only met the other Sakura for a little moment inside a dream, to give away her star wand, and that was it.
Even if there is a connection at some point in a further chapter, if you are imagining a xxxholicXtrc thing here, this is definitely NOT happening!
Now, the age! One of the thing most people have been talking about!
Well, from the moment CLAMP clearly gave the actual grade in which Sakura was (something we didn't have in the 90's manga), we had no choice but to accept she was indeed still quite young: Sakura was 9-11 years old in the 1st series (4th and 5th grade), then for part of 5th grade (Syaoran left at a completely random time of the year, neither him nor Eriol seem to have waited for the school year to end…) and the entire 6th grade (11-12 years old) Syaoran was gone in HK; and now they are back together in 1st year of junior high (12-13 years old).
So, ultimately, Syaoran was gone for around 1&1/2 year, so the changes in their heights and appearances couldn’t have been more than what we are seeing now…
They are at most 13 y.o. preteens right now.
CLAMP mistakenly drew them older than they should have been in the 90’s manga, UNLESS, at the time, CLAMP actually thought them older, aka, that SxS would meet again when they are around 15 y.o., but for this new manga, they went back on that idea and made them younger (most likely, especially with how dramatic Syaoran's departure was, and the way he asked Sakura to wait for him > it didn't seem like he was talking about only one year + that impression was accentuated even more when Sakura said she would wait for him for an eternity...).
When the anime is out and there is new media material, I will be looking forward new AMV from you! ;)

Date: 2016-06-08 03:50 am (UTC)And yeah when there were rumors about CCS coming back I had mixed feelings...especially if they continued the anime and not the manga. I love canon material and if they did an anime original I would've been livid...so I'm rather thrilled that they rebirthed the manga first.
And good, I'm hoping they don't. I'm anticipating at least a mention like they did in the Kobato anime but I can withstand that as long as they don't drag CCS into the Tsubasa world...so I'm continually saying Sakura-chan's invisible spell, "Nando konade yo! Zettai daijoubu daioh!"
And that's perfectly understandable. I'm actually happy they look a little younger than in the ending of the manga.
And yes, absolutely! Now just to wait for the anime to come out...I may even do a short amv with the first episode lol. I'm really hoping that they animate this and not make it an anime original and I'm also hoping they have the same seiyuu's! That'd be just awesome!

Date: 2016-06-08 07:26 am (UTC)Anime/Manga is a way of life for me, I've been doing it continuously ever since I was 4 years old, when I was first introduced to anime like AnpanMan, Candy Candy and Captain Harlock. It's completely incorporated to my daily life, not something I do only when I have free time, like most hobbies out there!
Nonetheless, as an adult myself, I understand more than perfectly that each person got it's own circumstances to deal with, whether it is family, job or money, or simply the fact they weren't actually not that much into this or that series, and being a "fan" was just a passing phase in their lives.
I myself have been away from drawing, or doing anything artsy actually, and have been away from anything that have to do with scanlation too...
For the anime, as long as MADHOUSE is doing it again, and that they have Ohkawa taking care of the scripts again too, plus Mokona drawing the clothes and other accessories, then we are mostly good! XD
CLAMP was really involved with the 90's anime and movies! I hope they do so again!
I also expect close friends of CLAMP like Maya Sakamoto for example, to definitely work again on a new CCS anime! :D Same for Sakura Tange as Sakura's voice actor and so on~

Date: 2016-06-09 12:00 am (UTC)At one point I was like that too where animanga was my life but it seems like the older I get the less into it I am. Doesn't help that any of the new stuff out isn't as good as what came out in the 90s to the early 2000s. Despite that I'm still an animanga fan and I could never stop enjoying it. It's changed my life. I got to meet so many wonderful people all over the world cause of it!
And yeah life has gotten so busy for me...I work like 60-70 hours a week but I usually find time on the weekends to either watch an anime episode or edit an amv. I'm never going to fully leave it.
Yes! If they involve CLAMP in it the new season will definitely be epic! And definitely! I really want the same seiyuus!

Date: 2016-06-19 03:31 pm (UTC)Here is the link in case you're interested: nakayoshi magazine august issue (https://www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%81%AA%E3%81%8B%E3%82%88%E3%81%97-2016%E5%B9%B4-08-%E6%9C%88%E5%8F%B7-%E9%9B%91%E8%AA%8C/dp/B01G7I3JFQ/)
You could: check up in it every few days and hope it's up for pre-order again, or wait and see if it actually can be bought "directly" after the release date (July 2d) if they get new stocks by then.
And for future issues, start looking out for it starting from the last week of each month, if you find it: pre-order it on the spot, don't leave it for later!
Amazon won't take the money from your account until the magazine is actually ready to be shipped, and until then, you are free to cancel your pre-order anytime and for any reason.

Date: 2016-06-25 03:02 pm (UTC)I can't wait to see the memo pad with the chibis by CLAMP!
And of course, I'm looking forward the chapter itself ;)
I case you didn't find it yet, here goes the link for the september issue: なかよし 2016年 09 月号 (https://www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%81%AA%E3%81%8B%E3%82%88%E3%81%97-2016%E5%B9%B4-09-%E6%9C%88%E5%8F%B7-%E9%9B%91%E8%AA%8C/dp/B01HIP2JYE/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1466866744&sr=8-4&keywords=%E3%81%AA%E3%81%8B%E3%82%88%E3%81%97+2016%E5%B9%B4)
And yes, the fact amazon do not charge until the product is actually ready to be shipped helped me out countless times: I was able to "reserve" the items I'm interested in months in advance, without paying for them at the time of the pre-order ;)
