Here goes the very first previews available of the normal and special editions of the last volume of CCS!
It's a nice surprise to discover we got yet another new artwork on the special edition sleeve case :) At first, I thought for a sec. that it was a shame she is holding her star staff in it though, since in the original first run of the series, the color splash page of the last chapter was a flying Sakura without her star staff and at the time, Clamp explained that at that point of the story, Sakura had grown up and didn't need it anymore, she could fly on her own, which tied up pretty nicely with what we learned about it 10 years later in TRC when she gave it away to the other Sakura...BUT! she is indeed not holding it on the actual cover of this last volume 9 in which she holds Syaoran's hand instead, nice touch!!

EDIT3: Here is the link to the official webpage about the release of this last volume: http://nakayosi60.com/news/263.html

What you see bellow is now confirmed by the official webpage of nakayoshi to be a clear sleeve case.

EDIT: chibiyuuto made a new detailled post about this last volume right here: Cover of “Card Captor Sakura” vol. 9 (final) ~Nakayoshi 60th Anniversary Edition~
and very interesting fact I didn't noticed: the sleeve of the special edition is actually a transparent case on top of the volume, meaning both normal and special indeed do have the same cover/are the same book. The difference between both editions, as expected, are all the bonus materials (sleeve case, cards)

EDIT2: the PV video I posted in this community a few days ago has been updated with info about this 9th volume (in case you don't want to re-watch it, just skip to 1:03min to see only the part about the vol09)

And here goes the 12 cards that come together with the Special Limited Edition of this last volume:

Ooooooh so gorgeous! Does that mean we can just order the special edition and not worry if we are missing anything on the regular one? Coz if that's the case I'll just buy the special edition! :D

I will be buying the special volume on Monday as well - unless my bookstores receive the books a day later (which I frankly don't understand why, seeing that we are still in Japan, only in a rural area) - so we'll be able to check for ourselves the difference especially the bonus artwork covers. While it might be obvious it's any of volume 1 or 9, I'm still a bit skeptical it might be different compared to the regular....

And reading your speculation about the "better" quality of the special edition makes sense; it's quite similar to the way Japanese music agencies put out limited and regular editions of CDs. While they basically have the same contents, the limited always have nicer bonuses but are limited in number, while the regular are cheaper but are also collected for completion's sake.

Wooooh thanks for the update! I only saw the previous version of the PV so this came as a nice surprise.

Also I mixed up my dates and I might be getting the last volume tomorrow. Hopefully I can confirm any lacking info regarding it!

I will! Hopefully I can do a review or a sharing post for the whole re-release; I plan to share screenshots of the digital illustrations and covers but not sure if it's allowed, lol.

And there is a calendar????? Oh wait I might have read about it, but now I'm not sure XD

Got my last CCS volume today! It was gorgeous; the cards are pretty and they quite sturdier than I expected (a bit like postcard material). The card that has Sakura and Tomoyo's illustration cover for Volume 2 is a bit different; it's still postcard material but more glossy and shiny especially at the front. The card for the special volume sleeve case cover is entirely made of translucent plastic - sort of like the stuff that makes up some clear files.

Even with all the news about the sleeve case, I had thought that there would be something like a mini clear book to hold the cards separately from the book. Turns out the sleeve case is big enough to hold BOTH the volume and the cards. I guess that is the only thing I was disappointed in; I would have to find something to hold the cards because I don't want to have the volume all bundled up like that forever. ^^ but overall the volume is really pretty and wonderful!
