clampnowbackupIt was released 2 days ago and I did pre-order it, nonetheless, it was pre-ordered with other items which will be released later this year (to save on shipping cost, I try to group together my items as often as possible...) so you will not be getting scans of photos from me anytime soon, sorry ;__;
Still, these are some pics I found online so far:
The 2 sided calendar have 6 cards which are made of heavy cardstock, and at the bottom on the pics, you can see a cutting line: the calendar part can be cleanly removed afterward, and you will be left only with the illustrations! ^_^ (it's little details like these that make the difference!)
As for the choice of artworks, I don't know how the whole thing looks like, but it's quite obvious that they chose to print and publish the 2013 moblie game illustrations. I suspect the other months are probably the same. (I also saw a comment on amazon.co.jp of a fan reviewing that the october month has a Halloween themed picture, which is also one of the 2013 mobile game pics)

Date: 2016-10-06 10:55 am (UTC)They feel pretty much like the postcards that were included in the special Edition of volume 09, which makes me think that they might actually form a set put all together :)
I order as much as possible from amazon japan, and this is no exception: with amazon, you can cancel or modify an order anytime you want and as many times as you wish as long as your item is not prepared to be shipped yet, so I combined this Memorial box with other items which will be released late this year, and chose for the items to be sent in as little shipments as possible = they will be shipped with the items which release date is the furthest.

"Not-safe-to-detach" pictures - in this case, cutting the calendar portion of the girls' group picture will cut off a part of Syaoran's head on the other side.

I am still confused on how to set up this calendar, though. It comes with a plastic case with cardboard stands, and there aren't instructions anywhere in this box. XD;;;Okay, scratch that - I finally figured it out. Lmao.

It's a shame they didn't follow up to cutting idea to the end and made sure that it would be safe to the take the parts off without 'damaging' any illustration though...
So! How do you feel about the memorial box? Happy to have gotten it? How is the box itself? The Kero plushy is cute?

It's a lovely piece of merchandise overall, and it's pretty neat as a collectible. I'm glad to have gotten one of the honey milk tales as well (since they aren't in any of the volumes - where were they originally printed btw?), but they should have included the one for Syaoran's tooooooooo.
The box is sturdy and is durable enough on its own, but if one is going to use the calendar, they would have to take it out of the plastic sleeve, leaving a small gap inside... but still okay, I guess?

I said in the entry that I would have shares scans if I could, but when looking objectively at this memorial box right not, the only new thing is really the cover illustration, everything else was shared online in one way or another ^^; The interesting would have been to post photos, and this is exactly what you did, so we are all good! ^__^

The two oneshots were released in the 2 manga artbooks of CCS which were released in the 90's (the 1st and 2d artbook).
And indeed, I am 100% with you on this: they definitely should have included the one which Syaoran!!! Just putting the one with Touya feels pretty random actually ^^;

If a gap is left, then it means that it's not a closed box, but more like a transparent sleeve, like the special edition of vol09?

The special edition will come with a “mangaka set” featuring watercolor pencils, a comic pen shaped like the sealing wand, a tracing board shaped like a Clow card and more.
I'm pretty excited about this! :D
Though, I would have liked it if beside extra goodies, they would have worked on the book itself a bit more and put color pages for exmpmle...

As far as I know, it can't be pre-ordered yet, but it shouldn't take long, it will very likely be listed in the upcoming couple of weeks~

I do not know if you own the limited special edition of volume 09 of the 2015 edition of CCS, but if you look at the illustrations cards in there, you will realize that this Memorial Box's cards actually complement them: they really calculated everything > even if in the back of our minds we think "why should I care, there is definitely going to be an artbook with everything in it", but the end of the line is that we don't know when this is going to happen, and we just go and collect those artworks however we can, and I am not only talking about these, but about them all, like the ichiban kuji ones and so on...

We don't know when we will get it so we have to get us much of them as we can 😅 ... we thought that the new Artbook would include them but noooo they decided to put "the best" of the original three Artbook 😓 ... most Likely there will be a second Artbook with the new images and of course we will fall for it and get it 😅 ...
What surprised me though was the new Tsubasa Artbook 😱😱😱, that didn't take them too long to release and we will enjoy them soon on a proper book , I can't wait to have those peacocks drawings in full colored size 😍
That makes me wonder if they probably would release also a mini Artbook with the Sakura drawings released before clear arc and that has never been released and then afterwards a new Artbook with the new illustrations of the new arc 😊

Date: 2016-10-15 12:58 pm (UTC)All three new books of Tsubasa were a big surprise, to the point I actually doubted that news for a moment, since they are introduced so last minute and their release dates are so close too! But it's indeed quite nice to have all the illustration of Tsubasa World chronicle printed neatly (and textless!).
That said, since this is going to be a mini artbook, I don't know about the dimensions of the book itself...hopefully, the only thing 'mini' about it will be the number of pages, and not their size!
There is definitely going to be an artbook of CCS in the future, or even several depending on the amount of material they will gather along the years (+ artbooks for the anime art!), but as for their future contents, this is something we will have to discover in due time :)
But I don't think they will force themselves into separating the artworks into 'categories': in the 90's artbooks, we got illustrations from the movies, mixed with others from DVD or music CD covers, chibis, covers of the mangas, color pages from chapters etc... all put together. And pretty much most artbooks are like this.
