First thing first: HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO EVERYONE!! I hope you are all enjoying yourselves, no matter where you are ^_^

And now, for today's news: it's official, due to the great response to CCS's new edition of the manga released in 2015 + the demands of fans for the artbooks released between 1998-2001 to be re-released too, there is going to be a new artbook released in March 2016, for the occasion of CCS 's 20th anniversary in 2016!
For the moment, it's content is unclear, since in the official website, they call it a "resurrection", and say a "restructured" and "re-organized" version by Clamp themselves will be made: does it mean we are getting a selection of old artworks in one book, and/or that because Clamp's didn't have enough illustrations released these past few years to make a whole artbook, the solution they found is to release a book with both old and new? (in the latest radio program, Ohkawa hinted about this artbook, and also seems to have said something about not having enough new artworks...).
Well, worst case scenario: we get at least one new illustration (the cover), and the artworks from the 90's will be better printed in 2016! :)
Furthermore, even though no more details where given, it was hinted that since 2016 is CCS's 20th anniversary, there is very likely going to be more things to look forward to next year :)

I have to say I am quite impressed in some way: it started with celebrating CCS's 15 anniversary, and now somehow years passed us by being drown under CCS's goodies, but hey! it had calmed down lately right...? But then a new bomb fall on us and we got a 20th Anniversary now ^^;; Well, I'm not complaining: WE ARE GETTING A NEW CCS ARTBOOK FOR THE FIRST TIME IN ALMOST 15 YEARS!!! :D

Date: 2015-12-25 08:51 am (UTC)I was busy writing a new post about the Ichiban Kuji, and saw there was a new comment here after sending my entry ^_^
Many fans (me in first line!) has been expecting a new artbook of CCS, and I was very surprised to learn we would be getting one so soon after it was announced: March it is!! :D
About the content, they made it rather clear that there will be old artworks, but my personal hope is that we will get a mix of old and new, with many, if not all, unpublished illustrations from the past couple of years but also, as you said, the ones form the 90's that never made it in the artbooks at the time.

Date: 2015-12-28 06:54 am (UTC)Hopefully, they can make it a chance to compile 90's arts. I think that in year 2016 they will release more illustrations for celebration. If they do issue (definitely will) new artbook compiling all new illustration, i would love to wait for couple of years, this will not kill the sale of all the limited items feature those illustration.

Date: 2015-12-26 07:50 am (UTC)-10 artworks for the new 2015 manga edition
-14 artworks for the 2013 mobile game
-4 artworks for the Ichiban Kuji (+you have to count all the chibis drawn on the same theme as each one of the lotteries)
-1 artwork for the Movic lottery
-1 artwork for the CCS expositions
-3 artworks for bluray covers (movie 1, movie 2 and full series)
-1 artwork for the earthquake in Japan
-1 artwork for Clamp No Kiseki first magazine cover
->Crossovers artworks:
-Clamp in 3D Land
-Clamp in Wonderland
-Clamp in Cardland
-Clamp Festivals
-Occasional artworks that are well done and posted on their twitter/blog, like the ones in which Sakura is the CEO of a company
-Calendar
-Artworks from the 90’s that were never published in any of the artbooks at the time (I can think of 5-6 pics)
-4 Sakura wedding illustrations (there were some sort of event in 2011 in which Clamp’s designed wedding dresses that were exposed, and there were the corresponding artworks that went in them)
-1 autograph (a pretty well made illustration of Sakura!) dated from February 25th, 2014
-2 black and while crossover illustrations: 1 with CCS|SakuraxTRC|SyaoranxHolic|Yuuko and the other with CCS|sakuraxHolic|WatanukixTRC|sakura
-from the 90’s: 4 laser discs covers (they all wear blue clothes with white wings): EriolxSakuraxNakuru, YukixTouyaxSakura, TomoyoxSakura and MizukixSakura.
-1 DVD cover of movie 2
-Clampazar cover.
-illustration of Chii giving a back hug to Sakura
-Clamp’s 2014 Kyoto Exhibits illustrations
-Sakura from Street Fighter for a fake magazine cover for Ichiro Mihara from Arika
-Junko Iwao CD cover with Tomoyo (that’s two more!)
It *IS* a lot, but a very big number of these are crossovers pictures, and the probability of them making it into a CCS artbook is unfortunately very low...Furthermore, they made it rather clear in the description above that it would be a selection of illustrations from the 1998-2001 artbooks...
All in all, we can only sit back and wait for more information!

Date: 2015-12-26 07:46 am (UTC)All in all, it will be either a book of known artworks but with a new cover, and then we can still hold our breaths and wish for a 2d artbook; else we are getting what we want in March with a mix of old and new!
>On the other hand , thank you so much for all your posts and always Keeping us updated , hope you had a wonderful Christmas xx
Thank you so much for saying this! I actually really needed to hear that >.< These past 2-3 years, clamp_now feels like more a bulletin board on which I make posts, than a community of fans, because of the lack of activity ^^; Lately, fans just read new chapters or buy their own goodies in their corners…"talking" and "conversing" in communities has gone down these past couple of years…
