CCS - January 2015 [PART 1]
Jan. 31st, 2015 01:25 pmFor all of you fans out there who thought this month has been (more or less) calm CCS wise, you are so wrong!!
So, what happened this January 2015?
The first of the three scheduled CCS exhibit ended on January 4th, many merchandise were released/sold at this exhibit in Tokyo, Art was exposed, tons of upcoming goods were shown off...
Let's see what they've shown there step by step!
>They announced the future release (June 2015) of the life size 1/1 version of the Sealing Wand by Movic and shown it off: (pre order started this January: you can find it at AmiAmi, Animate, Movic etc...)

>There was a poster with info about the releases of the new edition of the CCS books (march 27th), it was announced each volume will come with a different illustration card: you can see all 9 of those cards on the right side, which all put together form a whole picture.

> They've shown off the merchandise/prizes released for the Banpresto Ichiban Kuji "Kero Tea Party". Said lottery started this January 10th. The only way to get the items is through auctions websites worldwide: you can get things like the stickers, the towels or the plush for pretty affordable prices. The most expensive goods are: the teapot and the illustration.

> And now, here goes cosplay! They released the school uniform and the 1st OP battle costume, you can find them for sale on Movic online store (and Animate too? Not sure), and evidently on it's maker's, ACOS, official website: school uniform and battle costume. Do check these links if you want to see better quality pictures and views of these 2.

>Now, for the 2d Lottery this month: Animate Kuji! which started on January 22nd, the items were also exposed at the CCS exhibit. Just like the previous one, you can only get those prizes from auctions websites. About the prices, very simple: prizes C-D-E (glasses, clear files and keychains) can be bought pretty cheap actually, but prizes A and B are a bit more expensive, with a medium of 7500-10000jpy for A and around 5000-6000jpy for B (EACH bear, not both together; so you'd have to pay an average of 11000-12000jpy for the pink and green).

>Figures has been exhibited of course!! All of them were already introduced in previous posts, so I won't write anymore here, but if you have a question, do post about it. Quick listing: Figma Sakura, ARTFX J Sakura and Syaoran, 2 nendoroids by GSC (Sakura dn Tomoyo), Megahouse collection, Petit Chara collection, Color Colle. They also exhibited the Bandai Sakura and the PLUM Sakura, but the photos are not listed here.

Date: 2015-01-31 06:53 pm (UTC)2015 is the 25th anniversary of CLAMP and also the 15th anniversary of CCS, which is why there are so many goodies. I really don't think there are any chances at all they will release merchandise of Clamp's other series, with the exception of Tsubasa which is on going, and maybe crossovers kind of goods? But I really wouldn't hold my breath for anything else ^^;

Date: 2015-01-31 05:24 pm (UTC)I'd like to leave you a link, but every time I do that my messages go to your spam folders .__. I've mentioned manda-rake a few times before but seems you never got those either.
I'm excited for all the goods though! I had to order the ClowBook from CD Japan-- Amazon jpn completely sold out and never restocked. The only ones available there are from marketplace sellers selling it for twice as much.

Date: 2015-01-31 06:50 pm (UTC)Thanks for reminding me of those 2! I will definitely take them in consideration in the future! :) And this is indeed the very first time as far as I remember that I've heard you telling me about these 2 stores...
About the Clow Book...well, until the very VEERRYY end I was expecting it to come back on amazon.jp because it's really by far the most practical, fast and less expensive way to get books from Japan, but as you said, they never restocked it D:
I've already spend 200 USD on CCS goodies and we are only January 31st! + I still have more things to purchase, WAY TOO MANY actually, I'm completely booked until June 2015, I'm actually starting to very seriously regret pre-ordering some things but it's too late, I can't cancel...
My regrets are due to my way of living this month: I've had it really hard this January, I had to make sacrifices in my real life and struggled...when I made all those pre-orders months back, I thought it was 'worth it', that I would save money in advance and that I could deal with it...but now I'm really suffering from it, but I have to keep my engagements and keep paying people for this or that...

Date: 2015-01-31 07:05 pm (UTC)*huggle* I've been struggling too with personal finances...I've been in the black too. Reserving in advance can be a double edge sword. AmiAmi doesn't charge you right away when reserving, but you never know if something might happen when it's time to pay and you might not have the funds. Last month I barely manged to pay for the monthly load of goods from AmiAmi.
I've sacrificed paying for some RL things I can get away with for a bit cuz I had to cover for other important RL things...and the rest went to hobbies. It's very hard. I know how you feel. You can't just suddenly back out of stuff you've already agreed to.
Best you can do is trust your gut. If you feel it's best to reserve it now, go for it and pay later, or go with paying in full. Don't regret too much.
After all, if collecting CCS things make you happy, then all it's worth it and that's what should matter the most.

Date: 2015-01-31 07:28 pm (UTC)But even while telling me that, it's still hard! D: I'm a LOT, L-O-O-O-T more selective: I'm actually sacrificing even things that I really want, and even my priority list is getting cut off...Sincerely the problem is not the items' prices: it's the proxy buyer fees I have to pay for, it's the shipping cost from Japan and than it's the custom fees...without all these, I wouldn't be so short on money! >.

Anikuji
Date: 2015-03-02 06:45 pm (UTC)I just got the Clow Book just yesterday from Kinokuniya! I am quite shocked to realise that it's sold out in Amazon JP... I live in South East Asia so I guess while there are people who love CCS here, not everyone knows of the limited edition stuff? Does your country have Kinokuniya?
I really want the clear folders from the Exhibition and Anikuji but i can't justify spending over a $100 on files...
Oops, I just realised the last post was on end Jan, haha but seeing this post made me want a lot...
Re: Anikuji
Date: 2015-03-09 11:57 am (UTC)About Anikuji, from my understanding, it is indeed you and your luck, meaning you cannot actually pretty much 'choose' you prizes like with Ichiban Kuji...
And I was very shocked too when the Clow Book was sold out almost immediately after it was posted on amazon.jp, since it's a 'book', I didn't think there would be problems of availability. That said, they already announced weeks ago that they would be printing more and that there should be more coming out in march/april ;)
About the folders from the exhibition, you can get them from Animate, Movic or CCS official online store, then of course there are auctions websites... Also, the clear files won't cost you a 100usd, very far from that: the items that were and still are very expensive are things like figures, the bears and canvas from Anikuji or the teapot from the Ichiban Kuji, these kind of things! Items like folders, postcards, towels, stickers, keychains, stationery in general, glasses etc.. can be obtained at reasonable prices.
Re: Anikuji
Date: 2015-03-10 12:53 pm (UTC)Oh I live in South East Asia, we only had ichiban kuji and the clow book and the figurines but of course, no way of getting the exhibition limited items, so there was a seller in my country who was selling a set of 2 files for like 24 bucks which is about USD17 owning to it exclusiveness and stuff? And there were about 5 different sets which she would sell for 100+bucks in total if one bought all 5 sets. Hence, I felt that was really exorbitant since these are just A4 files even though I was really tempted since the artwork's so pretty!!
I was really glad to come across the post in this community that stated where we could buy the exhibition items as I have a friend who could help me get them! But I found it weird how the items don't tally across the three sites, some items are sold out whereas on the other two sites they are still available! So I had to make use of two sites! Anyway, thanks! :D :D
