Clow Cards and Fortune Book reprint
Nov. 23rd, 2014 05:59 pmI know many people have been looking forward to this: the reprint of all the 52 Clow Cards and also the Fortune book (divination manual to be used with the cards).
They are both scheduled for release on January 29th, 2015 and are now available for pre-order.
I saw them for sale first on Animate online store, but since it's limited to Japan (else you would have to use a proxy, pay fees etc..), I think it's much more practical for international buyers to simply get them from Amazon:
Full reprint Clow Card Fortune book (KC deluxe Nakayoshi) - 734 jpy
Full reprint of Clow Cards set (Kodansha) - 3900 jpy
I personally already own both (spanish version) and was a little surprised by the price of the clow card set: it cost me 15 euros when I bought the Glénat version of the set, while they cost 27 euros now, almost twice the price. That said, being re-released again after so many years, I don't know if there will be any changes in the quality of the paper? The printing? The box in which they will come in...? They call it a "luxury box set" after all...To be seen!

I also found in on amazon.co.uk, for 7.59 GBP (which is 9.6 euros, more expensive).
And I made an error: it was released by Glénat, not Norma.
Spanish version: Glénat, dust cover, 96 full color pages, glossy heavy paper (think artbook), dimensions 17*12cm
And you are right: no matter how attractive the japanese version could be, there is really no use if we can't understand a single word written in the book ^^; Owning the spanish version, I definitely won't be buying the jap. fortune book.
I've known about CDJapan for many years, but for a reason or another I never ended up purchasing anything from them; for a person like me who order online so often it's curious ^^; But they are indeed popular and trustworthy :)

Date: 2014-11-24 09:59 pm (UTC)yep, the idea of a fortune book is to actually play with the cards but if we can't understand it, then it ends up being an artbook *shrugs*
Oh, I bought 4 or 5 times from them and I have never had a problem, I even use the cheapest/not tracking SAL shippment and I always received the package ^^ (but I can't compare it to other stores since it's the first and only internet shop I ever used :P)

Date: 2014-11-24 02:06 am (UTC)There is an English translation flying around the interwebs if you do some Googling, though it would be nice to have an official English release for most people.
And yeah, since they're books, I'll go with buying these on Amazon Japan. Their Global shipping is express and way cheaper than CD Japan.
