So after 15 years, a new CCS? I'm sure that will make many people very happy if it becomes a reality.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm nope. CCS is already a 10/10 series, I can't even imagine what they would attempt to do to "update" it. The 90s charm was perfect. No need to make it more "moe" or whatever. If CLAMP wants to cash in on CCS then they should release CCS manga in colour, since they're already colouring lots of it for their mobile card game.

I mean, if they do re-make it ofc I'll watch but I'd be very conflicted/probably end up comparing it to the original constantly and unable to enjoy it... oop.

ETA: But then again.................. the more I look at how cute they both look in that pic......... ffffuuuu. I wouldn't be mad I guess but it's just hard to consider how it might turn out, considering what the modern anime landscape is like right now.

If they did, I wonder if they'd throw in crossover characters, lol. I hope they do remake it thought but when they do this kind of thing, it's always sad for some folks if voice actors/actresses change haha. Still, I'd love to see a remake. Would also be interesting to see what other kinds of changes they throw in.

i could go for another movie. Well i could really use a complete series release for NA (that includes Canada NIS! sorry a bit of rage there) that isn't insanely priced as well.

Hmmm... to be honest, I just don't think it's necessary.

The CCS anime is one of the few that I enjoy add much as the original source material. They did such a good job with it that I honestly can't imagine how they can make it better.

Sure, there were a few niggles with the series (like removing Fujitaka as a second reincarnation of Clow) but overall I can't imagine them matching the attention to detail and delicate care that was used on the animated series.

Now, if you were talking about redoing the dub...

Any way...I love CCS. But sometimes there is such a thing as too much of a good thing.

I look again, on the 2nd look, a better impression of him, he's good, his hair is lighter like the manga, a rare smile! And all the other characters are nice :)

My expectations: mmmhhh...the fact it was actually written in such a known magazine DOES have some meaning, because if it was really just a personal wish of his own with no concrete meaning in reality, he wouldn't have let it appear in there....I think? Still, there is obviously still no guaranty at all, I mean, we've got nothing on Clamp's side *looks at mobile game* yep nothing *looks at the countless artworks of CCS released these past few months* coughcough why are these workaholic women having so many breaks lately anyway? *rumors of someone sick again? or another project?* :P
Well, jokes aside, it's 50/50? Or very likely a lot less, really. The thing is, it's such an unbelievably popular series that managed to stay strong and still have an active fanbase for more than 13 years, that the producer might actually be given the ok if he is serious about it...but a pretty big part of me don't believe it to be totally sincere.
If we get a remake à la fullmetal alchemist, all I can say is: OMG, bring it on like, now! Of course, there won't be 70 eps, it will definitely be a lot less, and less fillers > 90-100% manga material! But I can understand the reserve of some fans who says they would compare it to the first series, personally, I think I will like it but be frustrated to see both Sakura and Syaoran go after Yukito for 2/3 of the anime ^^; But I would be so unbelievably happy to see them 'alive' again...in 1080p! that I might forgive them ;)

EDIT: euh, wow, I just ran the link nokiirat gave us through google translate, and the comments are negative, people doesn't look too happy from what I've read. Beside that, the translation of the title says: "anyway, I want to make a new" CC Sakura "., if possible, But ..."
That 'but' is a no if you ask me. Shame, it has only been a few moments, but I was getting used to the idea.

maybe less fillers? but this is one of the very few series were fillers were enjoyable!
maybe a different ending, like the manga? that would be good, it would explain Sakura and Touya's powers better :)
I think the animation was pretty good so making it prettier is not really thaaaaat necesary.....

Since the trend in anime lately seems to be remakes that are true to the manga (Dragonball Kai, Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Sailor Moon) I'm not surprised that they would pick another highly successful anime series. I personally would love to see a true to the manga series because I just love it so much. I would watch in a heartbeat for my favorite series. :)

My thoughts exactly ^__^

Some people seems to complain about fillers they liked not being animated again or even whole characters vanishing (Meiling and Wei), about 'memories needing to stay memories' etc...but they seem to forget the first series will always be there: you can just watch the old episodes if you miss one thing or another, it's never going to disappear. Furthermore, now a new generation of young people will be able to know about CCS watching it on their TV in Japan and around the world.

I had very good experiences with the remakes of FullMetal Alchemist and Glass Mask, so I'd like a remake more faithful to the original work (which is what I expect).
But I'm afraid to be too hopeful and for this project to never happen so, I won't believe too much in this...just yet.

Of course a remake would be nice and bring in new viewers. The original anime will still be there and might even get more attention so I don't see why people wouldn't want this to happen. I'm guessing it would probably follow the manga more closely and it might be shorter and feature new voices but I still hope it will happen. Now what we really need is a continuation of the Tsubasa OVAs!
