How many volumes will Kobato have?
Nov. 5th, 2010 10:01 pmRecently the producer printing Kobato in Italy declared Kobato will stop at volume 6... has that been confirmed by some official source? Is Kobato going to count only 6 volumes?

Date: 2010-11-05 09:08 pm (UTC)nope, no official word from clamp has ever been posted. 6 seems reasonable considering where the story is now and the fact that monthly newtype chapters are only 14-15 pages. maybe there will be something in this month's newtype?

Date: 2010-11-05 09:36 pm (UTC)Oh, okay. Yes, it would make sense for Kobato to end up at volume 6 thought this means it's about to end and it makes me sad... ;_;
Let's hope it will have a good ending at least...

Date: 2010-11-06 02:48 am (UTC)I have yet to decide what ending I'd like for Kobato... Personally, I'd love it to bits and pieces if Ioryogi stays with Kobato. <3 MOVE ASIDE, FUJIMOTO. (shoves) XDDD

Date: 2010-11-06 01:12 pm (UTC)Oh, I would love if they were to give a decent continuation to TRC, possibly one that would explain something about the vampires and hunters but I'm not getting my hopes up.
LOL Well, considering Ioryogi loves the angel inside Kobato I would be really sorry if he had to leave her... but if same souls are foreordained to fall in love for the same person does that mean Ioryogi and Fujimoto are the same soul and therefore kind of the same person?

Date: 2010-11-07 03:44 pm (UTC)Indeed. Wish they'd explain further or something. XD Give us a prequel, I don't care! Just tell us what the hell was going on!
Hm... Well, I dunno. I mean looking at Kohaku (the angel, if I remember her name right), she has said that it didn't matter if the soul she loved didn't love her in his reincarnations as long they could be together, meaning there *is* a possibility that you won't be/fall in love with your 'soulmate', like how Fujimoto was - still is, in the manga - in love with Sayaka-sensei. :\
And then there's this weird thing about the people in different worlds with the same souls having the general same physical appearances anyway. Considering how different Ioryogi is from Fujimoto, I wouldn't really theorise things like that. In fact, I refuse to believe such a theory!! XD Ioryogi is Ioryogi! Fujimoto is Fujimoto! I don't want them to be the same people!!
...then *again* (god, I'm tiring myself out with all this rationalising), if the angel and Kobato share the same souls and the angel likes Ioryogi... while Kobato likes Fujimoto, there is a possibility to your theory after all. UNLESS, like I said earlier, that the whole soulmate thing isn't a 100% thing, which is more likely because as humans, you can fall in love with more than one person, you just love them differently. I'm sure CLAMP knows that too lol.
I'm getting a headache from all of this... XD;

Date: 2010-11-07 04:44 pm (UTC)Oh, I think Fujimoto's love for Sayaka will end up being like Shuiichiro's love for Hotaru. In fact Fujimoto is starting to think much more often at Kobato although undoubtely Sayaka is important to him but, after all, Sayaka (along with her father) had been for a long time his only family and she's in need of help. It's normal he cares deeply about her.
If I don't remember wrong we didn't exactly see the real apparence of Ioryogi... and in TRC there were characters that had the same appearene of others but with a character slightly different (after all Ioryogi's experiences are different from Fujimoto, what about him being a royalty while Fujimoto is an orphan?).
Though I don't know if my theory is right even if although CLAMP should know in real life you can fall in love with more than one person they seem to stick on their red thread theory. There are more people you can love but if you get to meet your soulmate everything else will become second best.
Well, CLAMP's manga has the bad habit of causing headaches when you try to make sense of them.

Date: 2010-11-06 09:10 am (UTC)Still, the fact we only got 14 pages per month might have killed it off somehow...? It's really difficult to keep up with it, and Clamp are forced to either put too many info in a few pages, or go in a 'normal' pace and make everyone yawn.
It wouldn't be a surprise if there is only 6 volumes though: Clamp's works' rushed endings are well known by all of us by now, and most of their mangas don't have that many volumes, TRC being the exception and xxxholic seems to be following closely in its footsteps but still is 10 volumes behind.
Also, Clamp are notorious to leave us wondering about a thousand things and don't answer all the questions we have, so reasons like "Kobato won't end because we still need to know this and that" are no good ^^;

Date: 2010-11-06 01:09 pm (UTC)Yes, I know it was J-Pop who declared Kobato will end at volume 6 but as asking if CLAMP confirmed this. J-Pop is making many interesting declarations (like the one about X) but so far I don't hear CLAMP backing them up with words and, more important, FACTS (they had declared countless times they will end X but so far I still have to see it finished)
(also X reprint hasn't started yet in Italy... but I take this as a good sign. I hope J-Pop is waiting for CLAMP to restart X so they will be sure they'll manage to reprint it all without interruptions)

Date: 2010-11-06 05:52 pm (UTC)Are you sure? Because she has the translation of the last chap of Kobato (the one printed in september) and, if I'm not wrong the next one should be out this month (I seem to remember Kobato taking a break in October...)
