I think cloney will be back next chapter, since he was in holic 185 smiling and handing those glasses back. I think the earring might have something to do with that, too, since there's a feather in there, along with the memory of Watanuki paying the price of all those memories (at least I think that's what that memory is??) but this is CLAMP, so I'm bound to be proven wrong XD

What's confusing about TRC is, when did cloney become something that was created from one of Sakura's feathers??

It was nice to see the Syaorans all together though :)

and I love Watanuki ♥ I think he's the same old wataface, just with four years to have mellowed out a bit XD surely we'll see him riled up again at some point!

I think it makes sense. We know that he was FWR's creation (which theoretically takes a lot of magic), we know that feathers can be used to create beings (since Fay uses one to create Chii), and it doesn't really matter that C!Syaoran was created before the feathers were scattered because timespace was collapsing anyway -- the feather that Sakura leaves behind in Acid Tokyo is there in Clow up until the end. S-so many time paradoxes...

So it would make sense if he were created from a feather all along, imho.

Watanuki hasn't been engaged in any kind of real social activity in the past four years. Staying inside closed spaces for long periods of time does weird things to people and Wata had been a weirdo even before that. and since he hasn't been in contact with a lot of people lately he's not trying to imitate normal social behavior and his natural gayness is becoming more pronounced XDDDD

Mokona's earring?.. well, Watanuki and other members of household still have to eat and pay utilities I assume... or is Domeki the one earning the money to feed them all? O_o I won't be surprised if half of the treasures Yuko had gathered are gone by now to feed Mokona's endless pit of a stomach

I really don't understand Watanuki's new personality. Could Yuuko's death really have caused him to be so different?? I don't get it!! :(

And I don't know but, I always thought that the ending events in Tsubasa (with the restoring the world to how it was supposed to be) would have more effect on the xxxholic world as well. Was that just me imagining things?

And I hope the clones aren't gone for good. :( It seems kinda stupid to have them disappear and come back once only to have them disappear again. Plus for Syaoran to lose his parents like that when they only just met again is too sad. ah, now I kinda want to cry.

I think the clones are actually dead. We always see things differently in xxholic with the Tsubasa crossovers anyway. I think its safe to say that this time, they are actually gone.

Okay, I do miss the old Watanuki, but I think it would be weird to somehow not expect him to change from his past days. I mean, it's been a few years, and he probably have gotten his memories back.

Yes, I understand why he is now the way he is, but that doesn't mean I like it, hotness aside XD And it doesn't seem like Doumeki's very fond of it, either.

Well it doesn't seem like Doumeki was able to get him riled up--I expected at least one flail moment in there but...nada...I wonder if we'll see what's up with Himiwari and co as well? I think Doumeki just wants Watanuki to not take it lying down (literally and figuratively XD).

Ah well I guess since he ceased to age and is unchanging he doesn't see much point in it. He could never taste what he made anyhow so why bother?

...he keeps this up though I'm gonna think he's Fei Wong Reed somehow. Obsession is BAD. CLAMP should stop making characters so obsessed.

Considering how hard it must've been for Yuuko, and what it turned her into, you'd think that she didn't want Watanuki to follow in her steps.

That's something I really, really don't get, but then I went back and looked at the last chapters with her in it, and he promises to wait for her... pretty much right when she disappears. Otherwise I think she might have told him to, you know, move on. Not wear her clothes. Eat and flail and etc. I can't imagine that she'd want him to freeze his time-- she is happy enough because she's Yuuko and she makes the best out of the situation, but obviously frozen time is a Very Bad Thing or she and Clow wouldn't have done so much to correct it.

Of course, I adore Watanuki anyway (even if he's being less than smart at the moment).

Doumeki is awesome, too. But I'm not sure why he's enabing Watanuki (unless the ultimatum was 'help me stay in this shop and I'll let you visit but fight me on this and I'll close you out').

I can't wait to see where CLAMP are going with HOLiC.

I loved the clones. I think they're gone for good, now. But they had a good life, in the end, with their life together and a few years with their son. For CLAMP characters that's pretty much a 'happy ever after'!

I really really REALLY do not like this Watanuki. I don't find it hot at all, his complete lack of personalty. I frankly find it quite disturbing. He started mellowing out through the course of the series, which is perfectly fine for character development. But just falling of edge into drug addicted drone mode does not sit well with me.

Clearly he is not dealing with the death of Yuuko in a healthy way. I truly believe that she would not want to see him like this and wouldn't be happy with what he turned into because of her death. She told him she wanted him to live on and be happy, which clearly he isn't.

As for TRC I don't even care at this point. I'm done trying to analyze it, ha.

Yeah please forgive my long rambling rant that probably doesn't make any sense. It's 12:30 in the morning, I just got out of work and had to come home to that chapter. It was just so upsetting XD.

Gah, thank you! I feel exactly the same, Watanuki has broken my heart with his broken heart. Although the chapter is technically pretty, I don't find it sexy either.. I already felt upset from reading the spoilers but seeing his attitude in this chapter was so sad I teared up a bit *sniff* I just hope it continues on allowing for more development and Watanuki somehow gets back some of his spirit.

It's like CLAMP took away all of Watanuki's character development and left an empty shell. It's not interesting and it certainly isn't Watanuki. I liked Doumeki, though. The four years must have been really difficult for him what with Watanuki becoming a lethargic opium addict and all. I hope that Doumeki & Himawari got closer during the timeskip because I refuse to believe that they were friends just because of Watanuki.

i hear you. i don't like where our angry, fiery watanuki has gone. now he's placid and calm and smiling. i think he was worse a little while ago, though, acting all warm and puppies. @__@;; now he's just warm/high.

i also don't think he looks that hot now. ._. but that is just my opinion.

I agree completely with what you say about Watanuki too. After all the character development he's had since the start of the story, it's just sad to see him like this. This can't have been what Yuuko wished for.

That said, I just can't believe that CLAMP will let it end like this, so I'll put my hopes to Doumeki and wait and see what happens next. Maybe the end of TRC will give some explanations.

My first reaction upon seeing this chapter was... why isn't Doumeki living with Watanuki? XD That's before logic kicked in and said Doumeki can't really live in the shop... somehow (what logic? XD)

I like this chapter a lot. But the stopped-time!Watanuki has me really worried ;_; Although, Doumeki's decision to study folklore is something I see as great <3

On the subject of Watanuki, as a wise man named Fay D. Flourite once said, "HYUU~" Smokin'. That said, I'm actually not really liking it too much. Where's our lovable spaz? I don't like the look in his eyes. :/ Am I the only one that felt this eerie wrongness from the chapter somehow? Like the whole dinner scene, though the domesticity of it all was adorable, something was really, really off, not to mention the concerned look Doumeki and Mokona shared. And why are there no customers now when Yuuko had them all the time? Does nobody need wishes granted anymore?

But I don't think it's going to stay like that much longer. For one thing, they must have moved four years into the future specifically for a reason. For another, it's not like they can have a new series about Watanuki's adventures as Neo-Yuuko when he apparently doesn't have any customers and sleeps all day, so unless something changes they have no material.

I've got a point: did anyone else notice how much like Clow Reed Watanuki looks like in this chapter? In that picture at the end he even was wearing sort of Clow Reed-y outfits. I mean, except that his hair's too short. Anyone else see that likeness?

These recent chapters make me feel awful for Doumeki. D: The poor guy seems like he wants to help, but he has no idea how. He really needs to get Watanuki's glasses off, too.

If Mokona's earring was taken off during the timeskip (great point, I totally missed that on the first read), I would buy that Watanuki regaining his memories + Yuuko's death = constantly high!Watanuki.

I'm still so lost when it comes to Tsubasa, I'm waiting for some kind of Fei Wong Reed revelation to sort things out. :/

Wow, after the new chapters came out, i was totally confused, but now that i reread ch. 184 of holic and ch 231 of tsubasa, i can see in a way why watanuki changed the way he did. Since holic is 2 chapters ahead of tsubasa, i didn't understand fully why he decided to stay in the shop, but after meeting the two syaorans, i now understand it a little more

well, I noticed that a lot of ppl is commenting in how much has Kimi-kun changed and not precisely for good. And that Yuuko wouldnt want such a thing for him. But I remember, I think ppl should remember this, that Mokona and Yuuko were always positive about the future and specialy have highly hopes for the strength of will of ppl. So I think both of them believed that Kimi-kun and Co would be alright at the end... and frankly, I believe it too :D (for the record: even with the lack of enthusiastic and personality, the new Kimi-kun looks SO DAMN HOT in that sofa!! *¬*)

and about the Syaorans... well, damn it it all!! XDDD I will follow Yuuko's steps and have faith in the future!! >O< thats one of the best things she left me T^T (and yeah, Im pretty sure too that the earring will be used there :P) btw, the order of the chapters to understand all have been H-183, T-230, H-184/T-231, H-185?? or something like that :S)... mmm I think that something else happen between T-231 and H-184, and that surely will be show in the next Tsubasa ch. Btw, if born beings, like r!Syaoran or Kimi-kun who belong naturally to a respective flow of time looks that have a stable existence, then can we wait for c!Syaoran and maybe Yuuko too, to be, im not sure, perhaps, born again?? :P

Well actually Clow is not really dead, he split his soul in two (Eriol and Fujitaka) in CCS so this might explain it... But Maru and Moro who were created by Yuuko alone are still here so Yuuko might not be really dead either... Or so I hope. ^^

Just looking at the pictures makes me feel a bit better... Watanuki is still his old self after all, although much mellower and definitely more snarky than spazzy.

Kohane is such a sweetheart! She looks so mature and caring for Watanuki. And I REALLY want to know what Doumeki and Watanuki started to talk about at the end, it looked like it could get... interesting XD

Cannot wait for the translation!

btw, pet theory: Haruka's collection of stuff that Doumeki is apparently sorting through includes more info on what happened with Yuuko, Clow, and FWR. Hey, someone's gotta explain what really happened then. What do you think?
