- FWR = Clow's son

- Watanuki = Clow

Watanuki can't be Clow! That would mean that Syaoran is Clow and that's just... wrong! T_T
And Watanuki doesn't have any magic powers, plus remember back at the beginning, when Yuko was talking to herself something close to "You were right Clow, he is good kid", why would Clow say that about himself? He would know he was a good kid.... T_T

For his physical and his relationship with Yuuko, I think that Watanuki is a previous life of Clow. Lives in a future time with respect to Clow (similar to clones and parents).

Yuuko was either Clow's beloved or his dear friend. To Watanuki, she was a mentor and a mother figure (the romantic subtext is largely confined to the color illustrations).

On top of that, they have completely different physical builds, heights (Watanuki is likely very close to his full height due to his age, and he's roughly a foot shorter than Clow), face shapes, coloring (save for their hair), and personalities. That last one would be the most important here.

Finally, Watanuki's being a former life of Clow's doesn't make any sense--it doesn't add anything to the story (like the bit with the clones), and it completely disregards the fact that Watanuki is Syaoran. Clow has had a far more understated impact on xxxHOLiC's storyline (he's seen twice, and Yuuko doesn't even mention him by name when she says that he wished for her to live), too, so his suddenly becoming so important would be bizarre to those readers unfamiliar with Tsubasa. The whole idea isn't worth making Watanuki's existence even more convoluted.

...the idea that F.W.R. is the misunderstood son of Clow and Yuuko, though, has a lot of merit to it.

I know that Watanuki = Real Shaoran, anyone who reads the manga knows that. what I say is that since they were separated in two, evolve in different ways. So I think that Watanuki is Clow.
