Dark Horse publishing new omnibus editions

According to ANN's write up of the Dark Horse panel, "To celebrate the 20th anniversary of CLAMP, Dark Horse will be releasing omnibus editions of five of the group's titles, starting with Clover, which was released this past June, and followed by Chobits, Magic Knight Rayearth, and Card Captor Sakura. Edited by industry veterans like Carl Horn, each omnibus will be around 800 pages long, and will condense three to four graphic novels per book."

I'm a little confused, since it says 5 titles will get omnibus editions, but it only lists 4. I'm not sure if it's a typo, or they just haven't announced the 4th title yet.

ALSO: "Although there is no information or news available at the moment, Richardson confirmed that Dark Horse was also in negotiations to develop a film based on CLAMP's Clover, but no deal has been reached."

Hmm, maybe when they say 5, they're thinking of how CCS was published as the first 6 volumes being Cardcaptor Sakura and the last six as CCS: Master of the Clow?

Wasn't that just the Tokyopop release though? I thought it was all one series in Japan...though I could very well be making that up. I kind of hope they just haven't announced one yet, so we get more omnibus-goodness. :3

It might have been just Tokyopop, but since the people looking forward to these would have most likely encountered the series in its translated format, maybe they refer to it as 2 themselves? But yeah, hopefully they're just holding out on us and not releasing the name of the 5th title just yet XD;

but if that was the case (with them counting CCS as two) then wouldn't they consider MKR as two as well? since TP did it as MKR and MKR II, and published them both seperatly as two series?

I already own all of these by Tokyopop...BUT I WILL TOTALLY BUY THEM ALL AGAIN!!!

One, Tokyopop messed up MKR and they translated CCS weird.

Two, they did an excellent job with Clover and I expect the same again.

Three, I like lining CLAMP's pockets.

Wah~ That's awesome! Clover's been out of print for so long, this will be an amazing opportunity to get it! And I always wanted the whole series of Magic Knight Rayearth and Cardcaptor Sakura~ (I'm missing volumes... ;__;)

Someone mentioned something about a Clover movie? I've actually heard about that before. I think it's been in the making for a while. I'd be pretty happy to see it finally come to fruition! ^_^

I already own these except for Chobits, but if these are higher quality than Tokyopop I'd probably buy them. Still need to buy the Clover one, I have the originals from Tokyopop.

I read that Dark Horse was in negotiations with Universal Studios over the Clover movie, so let's all cross our fingers and hope that it won't be a live-action film.

Setting that aside, I'm amazed that Dark Horse is republishing so many of CLAMP's other works. I've already got all of the CCS books, but I'm actually very interested in the omnibus edition.

I have a feeling it would be live action if anything... (I still haven't got a copy of Clover, so I can't decide how that would be. xD ).

I'm amazed too, but I'm really glad that they saved all of them from Tokyopop, who apparently loves to not even let their customers know that lose licenses... :/

btw, Clover movie x_X... I was reading some expectations in another forum, and ppl is rlly eager but afraid at the same time, 'cause if its like the rumor says and Universal is the one doing it, then 2 things could happen: 1) definitely a live-action, and that bring 2) without some real seriousness in all aspect, it would be a horrible waste (omfg! Goku just come to my mind!! nooooooooo X_X). The main issue is that Clover have a very short story to use and just too few charas that in some cases werent fully develop in the manga, so... Well, lets just cross fingrs to watever its to come!! x>O<x
