Hello there !

Japan Expo and « CLAMP : the Queens of Manga in Paris » are opening the day after tomorrow.

So my first question is : who is coming? Maybe we could organize some meet up?

I asked both Pika editions and Japan Expo organisators if we would be able to pass some gifts to the CLAMP and if there were any kind of restrictions: Pika said that had yet to decide anything, but JE answered that there will be a box in which we will be able to put anything we want to give them. Nothing about restrictions, but I think it only applies to fanworks.

As for the signing sessions, it seems that every four of them will be submitted to the drawing lots system. There will be one or two organized each day by Japan Expo, but I heard that there might be another one ordered by Kaze (but you’d have to buy a DVD to take part in it) with 60 places to win.

Pika and Kaze had already prepared some contests of their own and gave the results today. There are 20 winners for Kaze and 80 for Pika. If you took part in these, you can check on their internet sites, and please don’t forget to scan what you’ll get for us to see!!

Concerning the conference, if you want to have a really good sit, I advise you to renounce going to the World Cosplay Summit Selection, as they will throw everyone out of the auditorium after it, and there will already be people queuing up for the next event, that is to say, the CLAMP conference.

Concerning the artbook “Clamp in Paris”, here are a few pictures I took (sorry about the quality, I'll do some scanning later in the evening, and a translation of the interview too!):

As you can (perhaps not >.<) see, it is bilingual, French and Japanese. All in all, we can say that this book was designed like a retrospective of the studio's work. The interview is incredibly short and the illustrations are not exactly in a chronological order (for exemple "recent" RG Veda or X/99 drawings are in the first part), but the images are beautiful and the quality of the paper and the colors is good. So, in my opinion, if you don't own any CLAMP artbook, it can be a good deal, but otherwise, it's not very interesting.

Personnally, I'm a bit disappointed... Plus, there is some kind of mistake : at the end of the book there are some copies of the first few pages... It seems the editors were not very careful...

But well, on the other hand, if the exhibitions has half the drawings that are in the artbook, it will be quite interesting!!

Thank you very much for the pictures!
I was planning to buy the artbook, but it doesn't seem that interesting... Maybe I'll save that money to see if I can catch one of those shikishi...

Thanks for the info and photos!

I am from Spain and I'll be going to Japan-Expo from Friday to Sunday :D but I was wondering if the artbook should be in English as well (my French is not very good xD) :/
BTW, how much is the artbook? I'm still not sure about buying it or not, but it will depend as well how much it costs ^^U

Thank for the WCS tip xD Saturday will be "a queues day", I guess, but I hope we would be able to enter in the auditorium >_
