Appreciation Fanbook Project

Our project is underway with over 290 300 participants from over 40 countries. It's going to be a great celebration of CLAMP from people all over the world and it's going to be a darn heavy book.

To participate, please read over the initial post carefully and comment there. That post will be left open until April, so that I may keep track of how large the project is getting.

A. Your editors will be from all around the world. Each country has been assigned an editor. Please make note of your editor. You will be sending your work to that person. Do NOT send anything now.

morgif_kun will take any unnamed countries from Europe.
clow_shirow & miyazawa_lulu will take any other spanish-speaking countries.
Any additional countries will have chibiyuuto.

Our final review editors will be iamsocool12345, starlady38 and myself/nokiirat.

B. DEADLINES -
1. If you do NOT have a scanner, you will need to mail your fanwork to one of our volunteers in April or early May. They are NOT responsible for any mail damage. You can maybe take your work to a local library, too, if you do not live near any of these volunteers.

The scanner will send your scanned work to your country's editor and then return your work. (When the time comes, please contact the scanner for their address, and so that they know to look out for your work)

Our volunteer scanners are:
kasumicc - CHILE/S. America
junosama - USA/N. America
jannachan - NETHERLANDS/Europe

2. Regular submissions will be accepted between May 17th and June 6th only. NO late submissions will be taken.

Anything sent directly to me/nokiirat will be deleted (depending on how nice a mood I am in).

C. COMPETITIONS
Graphic Designer Competition - mid-February
There were a handful of you that expressed interest in helping, but to make this fair we'll put it to a vote. We will need one graphic designer and possibly one backup. The contest will run in February, but here are a summary of key points if you'd like to brainstorm beforehand.

-You will be designing a sample country splash page for the contest.
-You CANNOT use CLAMP's original artwork or graphics. Any logos or imagery must be designed by you, so you might want to keep it simple since you'll be in charge of 40 or so countries' splash pages.
-The book will be a 10x8 inch (25x20 cm) landscape book.
-More specifics on this contest will be announced Jan 31st, but please start working on your ideas now.


Cover Design Competition - end of February
-We'll need one cover design with the book's title, "Happy 20th Anniversary •CLAMP• Appreciation Fanbook". This contest will run during the end of February.
-You'll need to submit your a sample draft of your design (it does not have to be the finished, polished cover).
-Again, You CANNOT use CLAMP's original artwork or graphics. Any logos or imagery must be designed by you.
-The winner will work with the graphics designer to get the whole book's look together.
-More specifics on this contest will be announced in February, but please start working on your ideas now.

Anyone can enter these contests including editors.

D. The last topic is the availability of the final product. Many of you expressed interest in buying the final book or viewing it somehow online. We will make it available in print and online. For everyone, this means that if you are participating by sending in work, you are accepting the fact that your work will be seen by others beyond CLAMP.

The editors and I are still debating whether the online version may be edited for people who do not want their work shared online. The book in print will NOT be edited.

Please check back for more details. Keep working on your fanwork and send in the absolute best of your thoughts and creations.

The next fanbook update will be January 24th!! and will cover the specifics of the Graphic Designer Competition.
