"After various production delays, CLAMP no Kiseki will be returning to store shelves, with volumes scheduled for July, August and October. Unfortunately, the cardboard packaging used on the volumes released so far has been extremely expensive, and one of the major reasons for the production delays. The new release will use different packaging, but the price will be reduced by ten dollars, to $19.95." -NYCC report @ ann.com

what I don't understand is....the Japanese editions had the same packaging but they didn't cost $30...

Different industries (Japan is MUCH more used to producing manga than the U.S. is), different countries, different production costs. Not exactly unfathomable.

Ah, good. That's a (more) reasonable price, and I'll probably be able to find it cheaper. At least I'll be getting the rest of the chess set. :)

You are a very patient person. Doesn't amazon continually send those 'your order will be delayed' emails? I've been getting those for a couple orders...makes me annoyed. hehe.
