Date: 2007-02-04 02:18 am (UTC)Also, just for a clarification detail--the last volume for TRC and XXXHolic, does that refer to the last volume period (as in the anime has stopped production) or last volume for a second season? I had heard someone mention on another site something about the studio thinking about stopping production, but I couldn't remember ever having read a confirmed report anywhere with credible sources. I haven't been keeping up with the anime at all (a purposeful decision after seeing how the series was being handled) and haven't been privy to much of anything going on with its production since Beetrain took over. Please excuse this comment and just direct me to a prior answer if it was already answered somewhere on this site and I just missed it. :-p

Date: 2007-02-04 02:47 am (UTC)Tsubasa Chronicle lasted 2 seasons and Volume 7 is the last DVD for the 2nd season.
When Tsubasa Chronicle first aired, Beetrain announced it was going to be 3 seasons, but from the way the 2nd season ended it looks like there will be no more. After the 1st season ended, there was immediate news and promotion of the 2nd. Now, there is no word on the 3rd. Someone at another forum said that they had a friend who emailed and received a reply from Beetrain saying that there was no more. I don't want to reference that post since it is heresay and not backed up by evidence, but the lack of promotion makes it likely that it could be true.
sorry for the long reponse. I guess the short answer is that there is no 'official' word on a 3rd season of Tsubasa Chronicle or another season of xxxHolic. If I hear anything, I'll be sure to post...unless someone else hears and posts first. ^_^
My hope is that Beetrain withdraws and gives any rights to the animation to Madhouse...or Studio Bones.

*nods vigorously* Couldn't agree more--if they are attempting to do anymore TRC, please let it be one of those studios lest more undue alteration take place.
