I was super excited when this was first announced because I've always been interested in BBtSSB and lolita fashion, but never really owned anything.

I've been planning and saving up to make this my first Lolita brand purchase, because Sakura is worth it! But now I'm slightly disappointed. I was betting on it being super expensive, as I have visited BBtSSB in Shibuya and nearly cried at the price for hair accessories.

I feel like the thinner stripes on the dress, while more subtle, don't really look that great. At this point, despite it being a brand dress, I feel like the price isn't worth it for what it looks like in comparison to the original art... :(

Anyone else feeling same as me?

yep, with that price, you could probably make it yourself...or hire someone to make one. someone actually send me a pic of a knockoff a few months ago and it looked more like the clamp illustration than this. i'll post it if i can find it again.

here you go. i'm not interested in cosplay myself, but googling 'cardcaptor sakura 20th anniversary cosplay' brings up a lot of really nice-looking outfits. all pretty affordable but i'm not sure about the quality.

I've already got this pre-ordered! CCS is what essentially made me want to dress in lolita, and I have been for nearly 10 years now, so I can't let this slip away! Plus the collaborations are nearly impossible to get second hand since they're made in such limited quantities.

I'm disappointed in the colours they picked because the ones in the art would have looked better on me, but the delicate baby pink is right up BTSSB's alley and I'm a sucker for shantung so it looks like my wallet is out. =')

I've seen a few of the store bought cosplays in person and unfortunately fabric quality is lacking. I think finding someone to commission would be a better choice. There's no shortage of people who take cosplay commissions, and I think their quote for something like this would be around $250-$400 depending on if too want a petticoat to also be made.

I'm a cosplayer you see, so I would be pretty comfortable making the dress myself with quality fabric. I just really really wanted to own an official dress, so I was waiting for this release before deciding if I wanted to make my own - BtSSB dresses are usually amazing quality.

I'm still really torn. I don't usually wear Lolita which is why I don't know if a purchase like this would be wasted on me.

I will be more than happy to post photos! It's going to be a long wait until I actually have it in my hands, but I'm really excited about it. I've been losing weight this year so hopefully it can be a nice reward for hitting the measurements I wanted. =')

I think if that's the case this would be a really easy dress to make! Trims like that are easy to make and the colours aren't so odd that you can't find them anywhere. I'd love to see your progress pictures if you decide to tackle this!

I totally agree. I don't think I would have picked it up if my main fashion outside of my clothes for work was basically lolita-esque stuff. It's really pricey. But you have some time to think about it since orders open in October!
