[Results] xxxHolic survey!

So despite the strong opinions that against xxxHolic, the series still tied with Cardcaptor Sakura for favorite series and most people enjoyed the journey. It did affect about 28% of CLAMP fans in that they will not immediately follow and read GATE 7.

I couldn't vote in the end because I had to make myself an account to make polls so I let it go by waiting for a moment to remember to ask you about it and... this. It ended before I had the mind to do it.

However, that doesn't matter. The Poll results are much like my own choices so I can count myself as part of the majority. Btw, I never understood what BL stands for and then I had no time to ask.

It took a lot of debating to pick my four favourite CLAMP manga. Whilst I picked CCS, X, Kobato and Gohou Drug I really wish I could have extended the list to HOLiC, Chun Hyang, Wish and CLAMP Campus Detectives.

I don't really rank them in my head because I enjoy ALL of CLAMP's manga. There are a few which I definitely enjoy a little less, but the ones I love I love.

And despite HOLiC's disappointing (for me) ending, I can't deny that I loved the earlier story and Watanuki is still one of my favourite characters...even if I want to shake some sense into him ever since Rou started!

Besides...HOLiC gave rise to my own Wild Mass Guessing theory that Clow and Yuuko are Syaoran's direct progenitors, which was fun to imagine. Yuuko died giving birth to Clow's baby, Clow made his 'I wish I could see you one more time wish', they broke the universe, Clow gives the baby to the Li Clan to raise so that he and Yuuko can go and fix reality, the baby is Syaoran's (and Meilin's) great times (x) grandparent (explaining Eriol's 'cute relative' comments and why Meilin shares more than a passing resemblance to Yuuko), Syaoran ends up in love with his great times (x+1) grandfather's reincarnation's daughter, which makes CCS world as messed up as Tsubasa!

Plus, HOLiC gave us Soel and Larg. ♥

I wasent happy with the ending of xxxHOLiC but it wont stop me reading more Clamp I love those ladies they tell such a good story and put so much into there characters.

I'm glad CCS won so many votes. After all, it's one of my favourites and it'll remain in my heart forever! ;D I'm also glad xxxHolic won, even though I didn't liked the end, I enjoyed those series too much...

Awesome to see it tied with CCS, as CCS is what drew my attention to CLAMP, but it was xxxHolic that really opened my mind to their other works, particularly Tsubasa (naturally!)

and about holic i'm a little in denail so:

Yuuko don't comeback because she is happy with Clow in the after life or dimesion

and Doumeki is Shisuka in every page the egg make him live forever at watanuki's side until he use the egg

no other can use it because no other have the eye connection, Yuuko says that's why he will know when to use it!

Thank you for doing this (and posting it with such lovely graphics, too)! These results are really interesting - what I expected in some places, and a surprise in others. This was a great idea!

When I made the test and hit results, it wouldn't let me move on unless I made an account to make tests. Since I didn't want to make an account, it never showed me my results so I have no idea if my test went through, that's why I'm assuming it didn't take my test. Did that happen to anyone?

GD got the 6th place on favorite Clamp works!? :D Wow, I didn't see that coming! I love GD so much, those boys need lots of love - they've been sleeping for a long time now (Ohkawa needs to wake them up ASAP).

I enjoyed Holic very much, but really didn't like the ending - it was inconclusive (in my opinion, of course) and lots of very important character just vanished - Himawari, Kohane, the Warashis, Haruka-san... hell, even Mokona and Maru & Moro! I know they all may come back some day in another CLAMP work and maybe that damn egg issue will finally be solved, but that won't do. Holic deserved a better ending in its own series. Maybe some minor questions could be dropped, left to a later resolution, but there's too many unanswered questions.

Hmm, but Meiling is an anime-only character so I don't think who she resembles is that significant. While I'm sure Clamp had a hand in her character design, I don't think Yuuko was already in their minds at the time. And if she was that important of a character she would have been in the manga.

CLAMP did a lot of retroactive canon work when they decided to include CCS's Clow Read in Tsubasa.

Clow's story during CCS was that he split his soul into two as he died and became Fujitaka and Eriol.

But CLAMP added more to that story with TRC and HOLiC-including Clow going to Clow Country before his actual death and taking King Fujitaka's place. They seamlessly added more to Clow's story that they obviously hadn't thought of during the writing of CCS-so there is nothing stopping them from fleshing out Syaoran's family tree a little and adding Yuuko into it.

And although Meilin is an anime only character she WAS designed by CLAMP and the anime scripts were written by Ohkawa (which means that they also came up with her story and characterisation). Although she wasn't in the manga that doesn't mean that she can't exist in the manga-verse. Maybe she just didn't follow Syaoran to Japan.

I'm not saying that she's an important character, but it doesn't hurt my little theory that she does bear a strong resemblance to Yuuko that would be interesting if it was genetic.
