The registeration for the Clamp cosplay is now closed. Anybody here managed to be on the list? Who are you cosplaying (so we know who to look for on stage...^_^)?

I will go to Japan expo and I'm in cosplay clamp contest (well, i'm waiting for confirmation). If I'm in, I'll play sakura's rol (from trc), with the chapter 133 cosplay xD

Me too, but, i am not in the cosplay clamp contest (just not want) I will play the clone in and after Nihon. (and the suit and Hi-en is finish ^^)

I just can't quite afford to go, plus my passport is out of date, and my French isn't very good.

But I would really have loved to see Clamp and get something signed... You guys better post some photos! :)

Well, because they did not inform when the inscriptions began, I couldn't get into the contest, but I'll probably do some cosplay on the side. Maybe Yuuko in one of her Holitsuba outfits?

Ho, they informed when the inscriptions began. Just not on the main site. Since the French cosplay community has just one big forum (http://www.cosplayforum.com/), they used it for all communications about cosplay events at the con. Japan Expo does not have an official forum (or, not anymore : they closed it shortly after the 2007 edition) and the cosplay team wanted to be able to answer questions publicly and build a FAQ.
On may 15th, they announced the different contests with their rules and said "we'll say the date of inscriptions opening shortly".
The last week-end of may, there was another major con (Epitanime ; not the biggest, but the oldest con in France, and cosplayers love it), so they waited until it ended to announce the date : they announced the upcoming opening on monday 1st.
So inscriptions opened on wednesday 3rd, 18:30.
They closed on friday around 11:30, because the waiting list was already longer than the main list.

Lol, c'est gentil, mais on pourrait quand même s'attendre à ce qu'ils l'annoncent sur le site principal ou bien par newsletter, plutôt que de faire de la pub pour leurs sponsors... Et trois jours de délai pour s'inscrire, n'est-ce pas un peu court? Espérons que la qualité égale la quantitée probable des participants ^^
Enfin bon, déjà que j'avais eu du mal à faire de la place dans mon emploi du temps pour Epitanime, la question de "pourrais-je seulement finir le costume à temps?" ne se pose plus...

Ma communauté (Clamp Addict) a déja prévue quelque chose, mais je suis pas contre une rencontre ^^ (surtout après les rumeurs que j'ai entendue, mais j'en parlerais demain dans un article sur Clamp Now)
Faudra aussi que je met mes photos.

Annoncer ça en grand sur le site principal, ça impliquerait que les grands pontes de JE en aient quelque chose à foutre du cosplay.
Quand on voit ce qu'ils font pour le World Cosplay Summit, on comprend vite leur position à ce sujet :
* il y a deux ans, la sélection française a été décalée à la toute fin de la convention, à cause des retards de planning de la scène principale
* l'an dernier, les organisateurs japonais du WCS, TV Aichi, n'ont pas été invités (et du coup ce sont les orgas français qui choisi nos représentants)
* contrairement aux autres équipes, les français n'ont pas de coach (le voyage du coach est à la charge des pays participants)
* contrairement aux autres équipes, les français n'ont pas de prise en charge de leurs éventuels suppléments bagages (même raison que pour le coach)
Après ça, qu'ils fassent le minimum syndical pour l'annonce des concours et laissent l'équipe cosplay se démerder pour la communication, c'est pas du tout étonnant.
