Attention Canadian CLAMP fans!

First, just a quick reminder that I'd very much like to hear from the Canadian fanbook participants, just to make sure everyone knows how to contact me - a quick post to this entry would be just fine.

Now, on to the main reason for this post.

This year, I'll be at Anime North (For the first time, I'm so excited~!). I'll be in cosplay - CLAMP cosplay, as Tsubasa!Sakura. If anyone else is going to be there in CLAMP attire, I would be thrilled if a photo shoot could be set up. If anyone else is interested, or if someone else has already plotted this, a comment here would be much appreciated!

A friend and I are going to AN as Hikaru and Umi from Magic Knight Rayearth (our Fuu will be in Ireland, distressingly) on the Saturday, and I imagine we would make a concentrated effort to show up for a photoshoot.

A couple of years ago, there was a CLAMP shoot that was actually advertised in the con guide, but I haven't been to AN in a couple of years (moved to BC), so I'm not sure if they still do it that way?

I wasn't aware they'd done that - this is the first year I can afford to go to AN. Maybe we'll be lucky and they'll do it this year? They still haven't released the schedule, so I couldn't say. But having a back up plan in case they don't couldn't hurt, I think.

On their forum in the cosplay section people set up photo shoots. I don't know about advertising in the con guide but I am sure you can ask.

I just checked the thread (Masquerade and Cosplay events section) and the thread is locked but I am sure you can PM the costuming director who started the thread. The point is to get the the photo shoot printed in the program. Someone compiled all of the ones from Cosplay.com

Begging for panelists

Anyone want to be a panelist? The Tsubasa/xxxholic panel, just need one more person to sign up, for it to be approved (printed in the schedule). If not it might not happen. Should I make a new post for this. I just realized I should ask people here.

!!! That is a tragedy, truly and honestly. I asked work if I could go, got a yes, and then reminded them later and basically told them they could try to schedule me, but I sure as hell wouldn't be there. Not with all I've shelled out just to go.

Sitting at a table at the front of a room and talking about Tsubasa and xxxHolic for about 50 minutes. Basically it's leading a group discussion for almost an hour. It's a part of programming at fan run conventions. Also the panelist along with leading a group discussion that includes the audience, sometimes the panelists convey information that the audience does not know bout. (Like the Tsubasa hardcover editions). Last year I learned about Clamps earlier works by attending the Clamp panel AN had. I have been doing panels for 6 years and it is a great way to meet people.

That thread is a list of panels. What is approved and what is on life support. You can post and say you want to sign up for the Tsubasa /xxxHolic panel. The panel director is Panel Guru. Any help or questions you have you can ask him.

I realize back when I was a convention newbie, I had people on a convention committee (ConCom) showing me the ropes. They acted like doing panels was a totally normal thing that everyone should do. I was so lucky.

Aw <3 Slayers is awesome! I remember seeing parts of it when I was a kid but was never able to find it again >_< Do you know if I could watch it somewhere online?

;-; I have poor Google-fu, and have only once found the whole series online, subbed, to make a friend watch some of it - however, it has since been taken down from where I found it. The two new seasons are easy to find online, but the original three...lemme just say, I am glad I have them on DVD. Although, they are still out on DVD and pretty easy to obtain that way. But Slayers is one of the few series I would enthusiastically recommend buying anyway, because it is just that awesome.

On the other hand...if you live in the Ottawa area, I know an excellent store you could rent the DVDs from, most likely.

No general clamp panel

OK Panel Guru says you are in. I have heard that the general clamp panel is about to die though. Should I put up a new post for this? They need 3 more people for a general clamp panel and I don't know what to do. (I am newer to Clamp so I don't feel qualified). If not the clamp panel will probably be cut in a day or so. Also I have just realized it would be a great way to let people know about the appreciation fanbook thing. Gah *conflicted*

And I think I'd take a shot at helping out for that, to - although, if enough bodies can be found, I may also be having my soul stolen off to help with a Slayers panel...

THe thing is I am commiteed to a lot of panels already. I am on 4 and there is 5th I am working on getting approved (apparently no one has heard of Sayanara Zetsubou Sensei. I can only think of 2 more places to beg for a panelist). I will contact Nokiirat tonight. Thanks

Aha, I sees. ^^ Don't worry too much - I've already asked to be put on the general CLAMP panel, so that's on body occupying a chair for you. I'm sure more people in this community will jump on it like crazy once they know about it.

Unfortunately, the panel schedules seem to have been decided without the CLAMP panel making it - Panelguru emailed out the list and schedule to the participants.
