I won't write up again any description, since
nokiirat already perfectly did so in this post.
Now, what's new? *at least for me* I was actually roaming around wandering and looking for new possible preview pictures of those boxes (which I didn't find) when I ended up in the official website of geneon about this release (http://www.geneon-ent.co.jp/rondorobe/anime/cc-sakura/blu-ray/) and this is what I wanted to talk about/share with you guys : 画面サイズ - 1920×1080 HIDEF
CCS was released on TV in 4:3....they turned it all into 16:9 for this blu-ray release? @____@
Actually, I had been thinking about it since the very first time the news about those boxes were out: the price was abnormally high (around 100 USD per disc, and there are 11 discs in total, do the math...) even though it was CCS, even though it was Clamp, even though it was blu-ray etc etc etc...it was still too expensive...so I immediately started thinking it might be a 16:9 release, but I just didn't see how could they do that, unless it had been made that way from the start (and it was cut for TV) because remaking it all was plain insane...
But yeah, if they remastered the whole series and made it into 16:9, everything ('everything'=the price) is clear now and those boxes might actually end up being something to look forward to ^^

Date: 2009-02-25 12:36 pm (UTC)It actually crossed my mind too...but then the price wouldn't be justified anymore...but is there actually a 'justification' to the price to start with? ¬__¬
I guess we will have to wait a bit longer and see how the actual thing end up.

Date: 2009-02-25 03:51 pm (UTC)I will not doubt that it originally was 16:9, but that point aside, while I do love this series, and it will forever be my favorite v_v I cannot afford that...and hell, I don't have a blu-ray player to begin with XD I own the series, so I'm happy with what I've got~ Not saying I don't want it v_v but yeah, I can live. I've put too much of my hard earnings into this series already...

Date: 2009-02-25 04:56 pm (UTC)I can, actually, afford to buy that (I have a metric f-tonne of savings) but I can't justify it.
SOMEONE TALK ME OUT OF IT! I DON'T EVEN HAVE MY OWN BLU-RAY PLAYER! MY PARENTS WOULD NEVER LET BE STEAL THEIRS TO WATCH £1000 OF ANIME WHICH DOESN'T EVEN HAVE ENGLISH SUBTITLES!
